Despite the distraction in technology in the classroom learning process, there are several advantages of technology in the classroom. Technology in the classroom is not only online learning but also using tablets, laptops, computer, projector, smartboard. In the 21st century, information and technology have evolved tremendously. Consequently, technology is vital in the classroom environment as there are several advantages of technology in the classroom.

Persistence of learning

When Covid-19 had struck globally at the beginning of 2020, the educational sector also had been affected badly. Mainly the school students and teachers struggled to continue the education process. The educators were desperate and concerned about the continuation of education. Technology was a boon to students and academics at the time. The students were also very happy to continue their education without interruption from their home through Google Meet, Zoom app etc., For this innovative change, many teachers faced immense problems. Now the countries which got a flatter curve with covid 19 started the new normal schooling with SOP guidelines. Of course, it is an achievement with the further step in education whereas the technology causes some negative impacts on students’ learning.

By using technology a variety of teaching strategies can be implemented. Students usually getting distracted by technology. However, it is unimaginable, there are plenty of advantages with the technology in the classrooms as it contains a variety of teaching strategies. It’s sure, this makes it easier than before for learning. Teachers can use different strategies such as flipped classroom, blended learning and project-based learning. The variety of teaching strategies helps the students for successful individual learning.

Moreover, the fun activities from the learning platforms such as Kahoot!, Quizizz etc.,  also fun activities make the students be active in the classroom.  Thus, the technology integrated into the classroom makes an enjoyable learning environment.

Teachers can assign small group works for a collaborative learning environment. The students who feel bored also will eagerly join the group since the technology makes them easy.  The advanced knowledge in technology and content of the lesson can help the students with inexperience in technology and knowledge. 

Getting ready the future digitalization

As advanced technology evolved, digitalization will be dominant in future. So, the technical skills will be a great help to the students to meet the digital demand in future.  Technology makes the students for getting ready to develop critical thinking, solving problems and communication and leadership skills. 

Eco-friendly learning spaces

Last but not least. This is the most important advantage of using technology in the classroom. Especially, nowadays, due to the new normal schooling, the students use tablets instead of notebooks and textbooks in the classroom. Most of the textbooks are digitalised and have been used in the classroom. At present, the usage of printed worksheets, notebooks have been reduced. Therefore, the cutting trees for the paper will be reduced and that will save our ecology.

In a nutshell, there are several advantages of technology in the classroom. Besides, technology will be unavoidable in the educationals sector. Moreover, the entire educational system will be digitalized in future. Students will be in the classroom with fully furnished technology. Definitely, it will help the students to enhance their digital skills. On the other hand, if there are no appropriate guidelines for using technology in the classroom, the students’ learning skills may decline and they will be distracted with inappropriate activities with the technology.
