Respected principal, Leading Teachers, Teachers and my dear friends, Very good morning to
you all!
I am delighted to give a speech, on behalf of ELA. This morning, I would like to talk about “Determination”. The oxford advanced learner dictionary of current English defines determination as the will to pursue a plan of action even in the midst of odds.
Do you know? There is no man who doesn’t have a desire to do something. Some are ambitious and some others are over-ambitious. However, sometimes even those who have ambitions and over ambitions may not have the guts at heart to pursue. Determination proceeds from self-belief and self-confidence from the feelings that I can. If one doesn’t believe in his ability to do well the possibility of achievement is almost nil.
You might have heard about Napoleon Bonaparte the great. Once he said in response to a question there is no word called impossible in my dictionary. On another occasion, he said, “throw me in a fire I will rise up like a Phenix”. This is what we call determination. The will to surpass any hurdle or difficulty.
Dear friends, how many of us do have the determination to continue in our pursuits? Keep in mind; it is our will or determination that keeps us.
6. The importance of English in students’ life
Respected Principal, Leading Teachers, Teachers and my dear friends!
Very good morning to you all!
This morning, I am on this dais to give a speech on “the importance of English in students’ life.”
First of all, English is a language of global communication. Even though English is not our own language, it plays an important role in our society, working area and our educational system. The language English is vital to a significant number of people who are working in the tourism sector since the majority of tourists are foreigners.
Secondly, I am sure that the importance of English in education and student’s life cannot be denied. English remains a major medium of instruction in schools in our country. When we go to our library we can see that there are large numbers of books that are written in the English language. Moreover, without the knowledge of English, it’s quite difficult to handle the information and communication technology in education.
Thirdly, the students who want to go abroad for higher education should be fluent in English to learn and research. In addition, the efficiency of English will help them to adjust to a strange environment when they face difficulty.
Finally, the language English, as a universal language helps students to get more knowledge on science, technology, computers and commerce.
Thus, the language English plays an important role in students’ life. So, my dear friends! Please be eager to learn English to avoid the inconvenience in education and even in the working area when you start working in future.
Thank You.
7. Goal
Respected principal, Leading Teachers, Teachers and my dear friends,
Very good morning to you all!
I am delighted to give a speech, on behalf of ELA. This morning, I would like to talk about goals. “Goal” – it is a plan to achieve. Setting a goal is vital to everyone in the world. Albert Einstein quoted, “If you want to live a happy life, tie it to a goal. Not to people or things.”
Yes, of course, as students we need a goal to achieve something better in the world or society. Moreover, we are being motivated to set a goal to achieve a better result in our studies. However, we need to have a goal to successful achievement. There is a saying, “A life without a goal is a ship without a rudder.” Do you know what the captain will be able to do if there is no rudder that enables the captain to turn the boat where he wants the boat to go?
If you turn the pages of history you will find that it is full of events of great men who chose a goal suitable to them, worked hard on it and finally won the battle.
Dear friends, How many of us can claim that we have a goal of our own. A goal in life enables us to find meaning in life. A meaningless life is like a body without life.
People who had high goals in life proved themselves to be great assets for their nation. Are we not destined to be great? Don’t we have the capabilities?
Dear friends, specific goals in life enable us to move forward with determination. And this determination persuades us to strive hard. Are you all ready to be great?
Thank you.
8. Global Warming
Respected the Head of the School, Leading Teachers, Teachers and dear my friends,
Very good morning to you all!
It gives me immense pleasure to give a speech on behalf of the science environment club. This morning, I would like to talk about global warming. It is an enormous issue worldwide today. “Life isn’t about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.” This is extracted from the great George Bernard Shaw’s creation. We are responsible to create a good life and a better environment.
Imagine that, one day our children's children and their children's children will be worrying about sunburn from the sun and flooding from icebergs. This will happen because of Global Warming. Although Global Warming is getting worse there are many solutions to take care
of Global Warming right now.
There are many reasons why Global Warming is happening. The fumes that come out of cars are very harmful to the ozone layer. The exhaust gets up in the sky and gradually affects the ozone layer. Also, the fumes that come out of factories are very harmful. The fumes from the factory have chloroforming carbons that destroy the ozone layer. The smoke from cigarettes is also harmful to the ozone layer because of chloroforming carbons that are in the smoke. In arousal cans, there are also chloroforming carbons that are harmful to the ozone layer.
There are several effects of global warming: An increase of temperature on the earth by about 3° to 5° C and rise of sea levels by at least 25 meters by the year 2100. Sea levels are rising due to the thermal expansion of the ocean, in addition to the melting of land ice. Other effects of global warming are higher or lower agricultural yields, further glacial retreat, reduced summer stream flows, species extinctions. As a further effect of global warming, diseases like malaria are returning to areas where they have been extinguished earlier.
In conclusion, making small changes now in the way we live means avoiding huge changes in the future. Scientists, governments and individuals must work together to overcome this serious issue.
9. Treat Others with Respect
Respected Leading Teachers, teachers and my dear friends, very good evening to you all!
I am very pleased to stand in front of you to give a speech on “Treat others with respect.” My dear friends! Do you know why we should respect others? There is a saying “give respect and get respect.” Yes, of course, we should treat others the way we want to be treated.
First of all, we should learn to respect ourselves. We should not do any harmful activity ourselves.
Secondly, we should not only respect ourselves but also respect other people. I would like to say that when we treat others with respect our place will be a nicer place to live in. We should respect our parents at home and teachers at school. Also, we should respect each other.
Thirdly, if we fail to respect others and each other there will be problems and quarrelling. If we
don’t respect teachers in school we won’t learn anything.
Dear friends listen to teachers. All the students should treat the teachers with respect. So, Friends let us be good students for treating others with respect.
Thank you.
Have a nice day!
10. Concentration
Respected Principal, leading teachers and my dear friends: Assalam Aleikum and very
good morning.
Let me have the privilege of taking you all to the fossils of history. You know, nowadays we fight with the enemy using cruise missiles, AK 47s, Atom bombs, hydrogen bombs and biological bombs. However, in the olden days, people fought with bows and arrows standing face to face. So, young men went to popular archers to learn archery- Shooting.
Once there lived a very popular Rishi, perfect in archery and fencing. Many students from far and wide came to him to learn archery. That year too as usual there were many. The teacher taught the pupils the art of shooting. All of them learned to shoot very well. Once he completed his teaching he took all his pupils to a forest and made them shoot difficult targets. Finally, he took them to a tree and selected the best three. He showed them a bird sitting on the tree and said, you should the eye of the bird. He called the first one and asked, “What do you see”. He said, “I can see a bird sitting between the branches of the tree. He called the second one and asked, “what do you see” He answered; I can see a few green leaves and the head of the bird”. He called the third one and asked the same. Out came the answer, “I can see only the eyes of the bird”. “Shoot”, tumbled down the bird.
Dear friends when we have an aim we should not be disturbed by the other frills that attract us, our whole concentration should be on our aim. If our aim is specific and our concentration fixed any difficult target can be hit with great precision. Don’t allow your concentration to sway like a pendulum. Fix it; work on it, success is yours.
Thank you
Have a nice day!
11. Online learning
Respected teachers and my dear friends, Good morning to you all!
I am extremely glad and delighted to give a short speech today. My topic is ‘Should we go for online learning? Why or why not?’ I would prefer we should go for online learning. Now, I would like to talk about the positive side of online learning.
Firstly, we can learn at any time. Do you feel that you won’t get time to learn? Online learning helps you to learn in your flexible time. Moreover, we can follow our own learning pace. As the result, we won’t give up any lessons.
Secondly, as digital technology has developed enormously we also can develop digital technologies and the internet technical skills which will help us when we go for higher studies in future.
Thirdly, online learning is very cheap economically. We don’t want to spend money on buying stationeries. Moreover, we can save our ecosystem by avoiding cutting the trees for making paper. As well as a teacher can teach many students at the same.
Finally, online learning is more interesting than traditional learning. We can interact with a lot of visual images, audio and real things through online learning.
Here, I would conclude this speech by giving my personal opinion that online learning is more convenient for us and will help us in future for better learning.
Thank you.
12. The reasons why students struggle with Math
Respected principal, deputy principal, leading teachers, teachers and my dear friends,
Aslaam vallekum and very good morning to you all!
Today, I am happy to stand on this dais to give a short speech on ‘The reasons why students struggle with Math’. Do you think students are struggling with math? Of course, some students might struggle with mathematics problem solving. Here, I would like to talk about a few common reasons students struggle with math.
Do you know? Mathematics is often considered one of the most challenging subjects for students. However, there might be the right ways to overcome the challenge.
Well, let’s see the common reasons the students struggle with. Most of the students often face attention difficulties. Students often lose focus and become distracted while doing multi-step problems to find the solution. This is one reason why math is hard to understand.
Another reason is the lack of practice. Many students simply don’t spend enough time practicing math concepts. Sometimes, students feel like they understand a concept, but when attempting to solve a problem themselves, they don’t know how to begin. Hence, the practice is vital.
Thirdly, some students suffer from math anxiety. Math anxiety refers to the feelings of stress and tension that many students experience whenever they are faced with math-related situations. Many students feel panicked and helpless when they are asked to solve a math problem because there is a common misconception that math is hard. I want to encourage you all that math is not the only one going through this hardship and that mistakes are typical
when learning.
Last but not least, some students have not learned the basics. Mathematics is cumulative by nature. This means that there are always connections between the previous and new lessons taught to students. If you haven’t learned and understood the earlier and more basic concepts, you will most likely find it difficult to understand the more complex ones that will be newly introduced. Math concepts and lessons are like building blocks. It is necessary to establish the foundation first before moving forward.
Here, I would conclude this speech by giving my opinion that being good at math is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration. Having a ‘can do’ attitude is the most essential factor in math success.
Thank you.
Have a nice day!
