World Teacher’s Day Speech by a teacher - 2012

Honourable chief guest, Respected Principal, Deputy Principals, Leading teachers, School board members, Beloved colleagues and dear students.

I wish you all a wonderful and fantastic morning. And I would like to extend my warm wishes to my beloved teachers.

On this special day, World Teacher's Day, I am extremely glad and delighted to stand on this dais to share a brief address on World Teacher's Day.

Yes, World Teachers’ Day has been being celebrated annually on October 5th since 1994 worldwide. And the World Teacher's Day represents a significant token of awareness, understanding and appreciation displayed for the vital contribution that teachers make to education and development.

According to Helen Caldicott’s extract, “Teachers are the most responsible and important members of society because their professional efforts affect the fate of the earth.

It's the day to not only thank our teachers; it's also time to make a fellowship between students and teachers in learning. As the role of a teacher is very essential in learning, the cooperation of the students is very essential. Dear students take a challenge that helps to achieve the goal with the hard work of teachers.

Teachers make a difference

Teachers make a difference in each student’s life.

Sometimes it may seem like people have forgotten how important teachers really are and teachers’ creativity, their dedication and their passion.

It’s time for a reminder. When a child says “I’m not smart enough.” I don’t get it, I can’t. There is a teacher who says the phrases “you are, you will and you can”. Every child needs basic skills, knowledge and someone to believe in him or her. There is a teacher who encourages, motivates, helps to challenge, engages and inspires.

Thus all teachers who work with our children are building a better future for all of them. Teachers are making each child become the next great author, artist, scientist, architect, musician, doctor, engineer and teacher.

A song sings like this:

Teachers, You have made a difference
Teachers, You have shaped children’s minds
Teachers, You have changed the world.

However, sometimes teachers cannot see the fruit of the same day’s work. An eminent philosopher Jacques Barzun said, “ In teaching, you cannot see the fruit of a day's work. It is invisible and remains so, maybe for twenty years. So surely we can say the hard work will yield the appropriate fruit one day.

Today, there are plenty of opportunities for self-learning. But without a guide or a teacher, it is not entirely successful in learning. Students have different learning styles: such as visual learning, auditory learning and kinesthetic learning. But the students should be led or guided in their learning to achieve their success. There, the important role of a teacher is needed.

Dear children, your teachers are role models to you to inspire you, to motivate you, to guide you and to make you a good citizen of this country.

So, please don’t forget to respect your teachers and to honour their dedicated painful work for making you a difference.

Once again I wish you all for this special day – Teacher's Day.

Thank you

Have a wonderful and Fantastic Day.

World Teacher's Day Speech by a student- 2014

Respected Principal, Deputy Principals, Leading teachers, Respected teachers and my schoolmates.

Very good morning to you all!

I wish our beloved teachers this meaningful day! - Teacher's day.

I am extremely glad and delighted to stand before you on this special day to share a brief address on World Teachers’ Day.

World Teacher's Day has been celebrated annually on October 5th since 1994 worldwide. And the World Teachers’ Day represents a significant token of awareness, understanding and appreciation displayed for the vital contribution that teachers make to education and development.

I remember an extract from Helen Caldicott’s book, that says that “Teachers are the most responsible and important members of society because their professional efforts affect the fate of the earth. Yes, it is definitely true. Even though the students have different learning styles and different abilities, the teachers guide them and co-ordinate them in their learning to achieve good success. When a student needs special attention the teacher encourages the student. Every child needs basic skills, knowledge and someone to believe in him or her. There is a teacher who encourages, motivates, helps to challenge, engages and inspires.

Teachers are making each child become the next great author, artist, scientist, architect, musician, doctor, engineer and teacher. This day is given to us to thank our teachers for their creativity and dedicated service. Thus all the teachers who work with our children are building a better future for all of us.

However, sometimes teachers cannot see the fruit of the same day’s work. An eminent philosopher Jacques Barzun said, “In teaching, you cannot see the fruit of a day's work. It is invisible and remains so, maybe for twenty years. So surely we can say the hard work will yield the appropriate fruit one day.

Dear friends, our teachers are role models to inspire us, to motivate us, to guide us and to make us good citizens of this country.

So, please don’t forget to respect your teachers and to honour their dedicated painful work for making you a difference.

Once again I wish you all for this special day – Teacher's Day.

Thank you!
